Mechanical Estimator
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing M&E business in London with the option for hybrid working.
This role will suit someone with a strong mechanical estimating background who can manage tenders from initial review through to submission and contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate mechanical estimates for M&E projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Produce material, labour, plant, and subcontractor take-offs.
- Obtain and assess competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare tender submissions, clarifications, risk analysis, and adjudication packs.
- Work closely with procurement and the wider estimating team.
- Develop value engineering and cost-saving solutions.
- Support Design & Build tenders with preliminary sizing, take-offs, and design input.
- Follow up submitted bids and support the process through to contract award.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in a Mechanical Estimator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services and construction.
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Contract Master experience desirable.
- Right to work in the UK
