The predicted salary is between 60000 - 75000 £ per year.
The project manager is ultimately responsible and accountable for all areas of the project. They are to lead all MEPH installation works from the front and are empowered to make decisions to ensure the works are completed on time in line with the program of works and to the required budget. They will report directly into the contracts manager.
They are responsible for the following working in their areas or in their systems and are required to directly drive their teams:
- Construction managers
- Construction supervisors
- Package managers
- BIM teams
- Engineers
- EHS teams
They are responsible for the procurement of all materials. This includes verification of all tender quantities prior to call off and order placement where applicable. The project manager is responsible for the program of works and will need to collaborate with the team to ensure all updates inclusive of progress and constraints are captured. They will be required to own the master program, weekly progress captures and are required to present their progress to the site's senior management weekly and/or as deemed required.
The project manager will be responsible for the health and safety of all JEG operatives and those 3rd party operatives who may be affected by our works. A strong site presence is required but sufficient time should be allocated to carry out administrative tasks such as record keeping and material procurement. The project manager is expected to lead from the front, following the JEG company standards and ensuring that they are followed at all times. They are to present well at all times and act in a professional manner and communicate clearly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Know and understand the project scope of works including the whole MEP package and not just their works.
- Know and understand the project specification.
- Know and understand their subcontract works packages and of those packages intrinsically linked with theirs.
- Know and understand and own the procurement schedule.
- Complete a material take off for their area and/or system.
- Verify their material take off against the tender quantities, investigating any shortfall and/or additions and procure the requirements.
- Keep the commercial team informed at all times.
- Raise requisitions via SAP where trained; if not trained these are to be completed with the logistics manager.
- Ensure materials are ordered/called into site on a just in time basis.
- Arrange deliveries with the logistics managers.
- Have an overview of the goods receipting process and ensure these are completed by the logistics manager for their areas and/or systems to avoid impact to the project and wider business.
- Responsible for all installation works of their system and/or area.
- Responsible for the quality of their system and/or area; they are to work closely with the quality team to close out punch items raised.
- Responsible for the W0 handover pack.
- Responsible for the W1 handover pack.
- Contribute to the W2 handover pack.
- Responsible for the labour levels within their area or system; where additional labour is required they are to raise this with the relevant contractors by means of substantiating requirements to project schedule.
- Complete progress captures as deemed required, typically weekly.
- Understand and feed into the master program.
- Present weekly progress of their area and/or system to the site's senior management team.
- Ensure construction supervisors have completed daily diaries.
- Issue constraint reporting.
- Contribute to the issue of early warning notices (EWN).
- Understand the commercials.
- Contribute to commercial discussions and provide the required information where necessary.
- Contribute to the issue of variations; they are responsible for issuing the breakdown of the labour and material requirements to the commercial team.
- Contribute to the issue of requests for information (RFI); the issue is the responsibility of the engineer.
- Contribute to the design completion inclusive of any design or buildability reviews required.
- Contribute to the completion and release of construction status drawings for their system and/or area.
- Know and understand the technical submittal register including required dates for issue.
- Contribute to the issue of technical submittals.
- Contribute to the return comments on received technical submittals.
- Responsible for the issue of red line drawings inclusive of verifying their accuracy.
- Contribute to the As built drawings as deemed required by the engineer.
- Contribute to the operation and maintenance manual.
- Issue out of hours permits to the designated persons, identified by the main contractor.
- Lead all internal daily activity briefings.
- Attend all daily activity briefings by the main contractor and/or client.
- Responsible for the safety of all JEG operatives onsite.
- Responsible for the safety of all 3rd party operatives impacted by JEG works.
- Responsible for the issue of risk and method statements by the supply chain.
- Responsible for the production of all risk and method statements for direct in-house or agency labour.
- Contribute to the review of all risk and method statements.
- Arrange inductions.
- Collect operatives following induction.
- Arrange PPE for all inducted operatives where applicable.
- Issue PPE to operatives and ensure items are signed for.
- Ensure all operatives are signed onto the applicable risk and method statements and we have witnessed briefings.
- Issue holiday notes whilst on annual leave or rotations.
- Attendance to all client requested meetings.
- Attendance to all internal meetings.
- Contribute to all required commissioning activities including attendance to daily commissioning meetings where deemed necessary.
- Co-ordinate their works with all relevant internal and external parties.
- Log and monitor labour volumes from in-house and supply chain operatives.
- Mentor and guide junior construction managers and supervisors where applicable.
- Attend internal and external logistics meetings alongside the logistics manager to ensure co-ordination with the relevant departments of the project.
