An opportunity has arisen with one of the world’s largest and most advanced data centre operators for an experienced BMS-focused Controls Lead to join their global design function. This organisation designs, builds and operates hyperscale, mission-critical data centres across multiple regions worldwide. As part of a Global Design Standards / Centre of Excellence team, you will take ownership of the Building Management System (BMS) strategy that underpins these facilities at scale.
Location: UK - Remote
Salary: £110,000 - £130,000

Responsibilities:
- Act as the global BMS and controls subject matter expert within the design standards function.
- Define and govern BMS architecture, controls philosophy and sequences of operation for global data centre deployment.
- Translate global requirements into reference BMS designs for use by third-party consultants and system integrators.
- Interface closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, operations and product teams to ensure BMS designs are fully aligned with operational intent.
- Drive standardisation, scalability and predictability in BMS and controls design across regions.
- Support commissioning strategy, CX processes and test script development related to BMS and controls systems.
- Stay current with emerging BMS platforms, controls technologies and data centre best practice.
Desired Experience:
- Deep expertise in BMS-centric controls systems, including controls philosophy and sequence of operations, controls logic and functional descriptions, and enterprise-level BMS system architecture.
- A strong understanding of how M&E systems integrate with BMS and controls in data centres.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams, ideally in a lead or authority role.
- A strong grasp of commissioning, validation and handover of BMS-driven systems.
- Background experience in data centres, hyperscale, colocation or other critical M&E-led industries.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, system integrators or client-side engineering teams.
