A leading UK organisation operating across FM, Healthcare and Capital Works, delivering complex projects and lifecycle services across the UK. As part of the continued growth of its procurement function, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer with strong FM Healthcare procurement experience.
The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will develop and implement procurement strategies across individual categories, sub-contract packages and supply agreements, ensuring the business achieves best-value solutions while maintaining a compliant and sustainable supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Develop package and category procurement strategies
- Lead tendering and supplier selection activities
- Manage a portfolio of sub-contract packages and categories
- Negotiate and execute supplier agreements and contracts
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Identify and deliver measurable cost savings
- Prepare procurement recommendations and business cases
- Manage supplier relationships and drive performance
- Support innovation, cost reduction, carbon reduction and quality improvements
- Maintain procurement schedules, category plans and savings reporting
- Support pre-construction, bids and work-winning activities
- Ensure continuity from initial procurement through to lifecycle and maintenance
- Support the wider procurement team and coordinate activity where required
Skills & Requirements
- Essential: Procurement experience within FM / Healthcare
- Strong knowledge of the supply chain marketplace
- Proven experience developing procurement strategies
- Strong tendering, negotiation and supplier management experience
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills
- Confident stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing sub-contract packages / categories
- Ability to work independently and deliver against agreed timescales
- Previous line management or procurement team coordination experience is desirable
