The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on Clear Street’s futures and options execution services team, you’ll play a key role in designing and building the next generation of our Clear Street futures and options EMS platform from the ground up.
You’ll develop a high-performance platform that brings together real-time market data, low latency exchange connectivity and execution, robust risk controls, and advanced trading capabilities within a fast, responsive web interface.
Working closely with cross-functional partners, you’ll contribute to large-scale, high impact initiatives that enhance our prime brokerage offering and help shape the future of the Clear Street trading experience.
- What You’ll Do
- You will be building a brand new EMS platform for Listed Futures and Options.
- Translate product and design requirements into clean, maintainable and well-tested components.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, business, traders, designers and back-end engineers to deliver high-quality experiences.
- Identify and resolve performance, accessibility, and usability issues across the application.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to shared component libraries, and help uphold our engineering standards.
- Support the operational health of your features and help maintain a high SLA.

- Tech Stack
- Java and/or Rust, AWS, FIX protocol, Kafka ,
Kubernetes and Cloud (AWS or Azure).
- What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java.
- At least 4 years of experience working with modern technologies, including a proven track record operating at Senior Engineer level.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting low-latency, front-office trading systems.
- Deep understanding of execution management systems (EMS), including their core functionality and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- A collaborative mindset and a preference for working in team-oriented environments.
- A strong commitment to engineering quality, reliability, and high development standards.
- Passion for delivering a best-in-class developer experience, with a focus on tooling, performance, and maintainability.
