Clear Street is modernising the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets. We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Clear Street’s proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimising risk, redundancy, and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency.

By combining highly skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast‑paced markets. Clear Street’s mission is to become a single‑source platform that serves a variety of investor types across multiple asset classes on a global scale. The Clear Street UK team is bringing Clear Street’s established equities, options and fixed‑income prime brokerage business to a new market.

The Role: We are offering a genuine, hands‑on insight at what it is like to work in fintech. You will have the opportunity to rotate across several parts of the business, including Markets, Operations, Finance, Risk or Compliance, leaving you with a rounded view of how a modern financial services firm works end‑to‑end. You will work on meaningful projects alongside full‑time colleagues, learn directly from experts in their fields and build a network across the firm. As technology drives everything we do, you will also see first‑hand how we use data, automation and AI to modernise markets.

What you will get out of it:

  • Real exposure to multiple teams and the chance to discover where your strengths lie
  • Mentorship from a dedicated buddy and hands‑on coaching from team leads
  • Learning sessions and Q&A with senior leaders across the business
  • Meaningful project work that contributes to live business priorities
  • The opportunity to be considered for future roles at Clear Street as we continue to grow

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to projects within each rotation, supporting the team's day‑to‑day priorities
  • Use and build technology – applying coding, data analysis or AI tools to help automate tasks, analyse data or improve workflows
  • Collaborate with colleagues across functions, joining meetings and team discussions
  • Research and problem‑solve, presenting findings and ideas clearly
  • Prepare and deliver a short end‑of‑programme presentation on your work and learnings

Skills required:

  • Strong academics
  • Currently studying towards a degree (any discipline) – candidates in Technology, Engineering, Maths, Finance, Economics or Computer science are particularly encouraged
  • Curious, motivated individuals who are eager to learn
  • Demonstrable skills or a strong interest in AI, technology and coding
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to use initiative and a genuine enthusiasm for fintech
  • Eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the programme
  • No prior industry experience is required. We value potential, attitude and willingness to learn as much as existing knowledge.

We Offer: Our belief has always been that we are better as a business when we are all together in person. As such, we require employees to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. Our top priority is our people. We’re continuously investing in a culture that promotes collaboration. We help each other through challenges and celebrate each other’s successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high‑performance workforces that are diverse in ideas, cultures and experiences.
