The Role: As a FIX Onboarding Engineer and Application Support at Clear Street, you will be part of a tight-knit and expanding team of engineers working closely with sales & trading desks along with software engineers providing end-to-end FIX onboarding and support across front, middle, and back-office systems across the firm. This role will likely appeal to technically minded members of support and onboarding teams who want the freedom to explore issues and code, and to make impactful improvements. You Will:

  • Provide high-touch user support to sales and trading desks across all major EMEA and US markets.
  • Onboard FIX clients across all asset classes.
  • Support trading platforms on various OS environments, including high/low touch trading, algorithmic trading, exchange/FIX connectivity, and middle office bookings.
  • Manage trading systems configuration across production and UAT environments.
  • Analyse application logs, code bases, OS, and network to identify root causes of issues and implement workarounds.
  • Champion automation of repetitive tasks and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Develop scripts, SQL queries, and implement application changes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
  • Maintain attention to detail and deliver high-quality service.
  • Prioritise multiple tasks effectively.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in a high-pressure environment, preferably in front office application support with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with client onboarding and supporting vendor platforms like Fidessa, UL, TT; knowledge of Equities, Futures, Commodities, and FX asset classes.
  • Experience with transfer protocols such as FIX and native protocols.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
  • Strong skills in working with relational and non-relational databases, including data querying and exploration.
  • Knowledge of execution feeds, market data handlers, and algorithmic trading is advantageous.
