Clear Links Support is recruiting for One-to-One Study Skills Specialists to support students studying at Edinburgh College. The role includes working with students to provide strategies to develop study skills for higher and further education, including time management, essay planning, spelling and grammar, memory strategies, organisation, and referencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support individual students to develop effective study skills tailored to their needs.
  • Provide guidance on time management, planning essays, improving spelling and grammar, memory strategies, organisation, and referencing.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment and track progress where applicable.

Role requirements

  • A degree AND one of the following: A teaching qualification, A relevant PG qualification, Professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Membership of one of the following professional bodies is desirable but not essential: BDA, PATOSS, Dyslexia Guild, ADSHE
  • It is desirable that applicants have experience in a similar role within the last five years.
  • Applicants should also have an understanding of the impact of disabilities in the further/higher education context.
  • Applicants must be available to provide in-person support at Edinburgh College Sighthill Campus; Granton and Milton Road campuses are desirable.
  • Applicants must be able to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

By the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. This post is also subject to satisfactory references, a PVG Scheme check, and other applicable pre-employment checks.
