Clear Links Support is recruiting for One-to-One Specialist Mentors to support students with an autism spectrum condition studying at the University of Dundee and Kingston University.
The role involves working with higher education students to provide strategies to develop their skills in managing the impact of the condition or impairment on their academic experience. This includes:
- Managing anxiety
- Developing concentration skills
- Time-management skills
- Prioritising workloads
- Creating schedules that balance work and life
- Acquiring, recalling, and retaining information in written and spoken language
- Developing memory, organisation, attention, and numeracy skills
Pay: £28 per hour plus £3.38 holiday pay per hour.

Requirements:
- Available to provide in-person support at the University of Dundee or Kingston University campuses
- A degree
- Complete six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules:
- Understanding autism
- Autism and communication
- Autism and sensory experience
- Autism, stress and anxiety
- Autism: supporting families
- Autism and girls
- OR complete the Optimum Student Support training course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education – Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies
- If you have a postgraduate qualification such as a PGCert or Masters in Autism, you must still complete the NAS Autism and Girls online training module
- Desirable: Experience in a similar role within the last five years
- Understanding of the impact of disabilities in the higher education context
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
- By the start of employment, must have permission to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, and be subject to satisfactory references, a background check under the PVG Scheme (University of Dundee applicants), and other applicable pre-employment checks
