Audit & Assurance Senior in Stockton-on-Tees

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing audit and assurance team. The role will involve working on statutory accounts and audits for medium and large-sized companies, with exposure to a diverse range of industries and clients. The Role You will be responsible for leading and delivering statutory audit assignments while working closely with clients and supporting junior members of the team. Key responsibilities will include: • Leading and delivering statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies. • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements. • Planning audits and carrying out risk assessments. • Reviewing junior team members' audit work and identifying key audit issues. • Completing audit assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines. • Supervising, coaching and supporting junior members of the audit team. • Liaising with clients, managers and senior stakeholders to resolve technical matters and deliver an efficient audit service. • Maintaining high standards of audit quality and compliance. Experience & Requirements • At least 3 years' experience within a UK audit practice environment. • Proven experience leading and delivering statutory audits. • Experience working with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies across a range of sectors. • Strong experience preparing statutory accounts. • Experience planning audits, performing risk assessments and reviewing audit files. • Previous experience supervising, coaching and reviewing junior team members. • Strong client-facing and communication skills. • Currently studying towards, or qualified in, ACA or ACCA. • A commitment to continued professional and technical development. • A proactive, resilient and team-focused approach.
