My client is seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join their busy Property team in Taunton, Somerset.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing your own residential conveyancing caseload from initial instruction through to completion. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing residential property sales and purchases, including freehold, leasehold and new build transactions.
  • Handling transfers of equity, shared ownership matters and remortgages.
  • Conducting title checks and reviewing property documentation.
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and progressing matters through exchange and completion.
  • Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors.
  • Identifying and managing risks in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Ensuring matters comply with relevant legislation, SRA requirements and CQS standards.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date case records using legal case management systems.
  • Providing a consistently high level of client care and building strong professional relationships.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer, or have equivalent residential conveyancing experience.
  • Have 1+ years PQE or equivalent experience in residential property.
  • Have strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process and relevant legislation.
  • Have experience dealing with leasehold, new build and shared ownership transactions.
  • Be comfortable handling more complex residential property matters.
  • Have knowledge of CQS requirements and anti-money laundering procedures.
  • Have excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Be able to manage their own workload effectively while working as part of a wider team.
  • Have experience using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Be committed to delivering excellent client service.
