An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join my clients team in their Otley, West Yorkshire offices. This role will require someone capable of handling specific steps in residential property matters. It will be a transactional role, with responsibility lying with the solicitor in charge, who will delegate tasks as required. These will include file opening, searching, and various steps pre- and post-completion.
Main Duties:
- To provide support and assist the fee earner in the conveyancing department.
- Typing from digital dictation (Voicepower DPA), quickly and accurately and prioritising where required and/or noted.
- Correcting the fee earner’s obvious mistakes and checking where in any doubt.
- Composing and producing routine correspondence and documents using the firm’s Case Management System (P4W TFB) and assisting in ongoing developments of that system.
- Opening new files and matters and sending out fee estimate letters.
- Scanning client ID & other documents and updating the matter file.
- Sending out Property searches.
- Obtaining documents from Land Registry, office copy entries.
- Completing registration post completion with Land Registry.
- Filing SDLT return and arranging payment of SDLT tax.
- Filing any deeds and documents in storage accurately.
- Assisting with the workload of others in the conveyancing team where time allows.
