My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their busy and well-established Family Department based at their Bishop Auckland office.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including

  • Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
  • Children matters
  • Domestic abuse cases
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Adoption and other private family law matters
  • Provide clear, practical, and empathetic legal advice to clients.
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, court applications, and agreements.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, negotiations, and, where appropriate, mediation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent client care.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals, including barristers, mediators, counsellors, and external agencies.
  • Keep up to date with developments in family law and maintain continuing professional development.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive status with a current practising certificate.
  • At least 3 years' experience handling a family law caseload (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of family law and court procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client care skills.
  • The ability to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
