An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Legal Secretary to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Fee Earners within a busy Family Law department, while delivering an excellent standard of client care.
Key Requirements
β’ Previous legal secretarial experience, ideally within Family Law.
β’ Experience of audio typing and word processing.
β’ GCSEs at Grade C/Grade 5 or above, or equivalent.
β’ Excellent organisational and client care skills.
β’ Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy department.
β’ Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
β’ Ability to manage workloads with minimal supervision.
β’ Good understanding of Legal Aid contractual requirements and procedures.
β’ Experience using a client case management system and the Legal Aid CCMS system.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Prepare correspondence, bills and legal documents for Fee Earners using audio typing and word processing.
β’ Open and maintain electronic client files, including completing relevant compliance checks and procedures.
β’ Deal with clients by telephone and in person, providing professional and friendly administrative support without giving legal advice.
β’ Complete photocopying and other general administrative duties.
β’ Arrange appointments and meetings and maintain accurate and up-to-date diaries.
β’ Assist Fee Earners with diary management, key dates and general organisation.
β’ Ensure delegated tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within required timescales.
β’ Attend to new client enquiries, obtain relevant information and complete appropriate conflict checks.
β’ Undertake training and contribute to ongoing professional development.
