We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Legal Executive or Fee Earner to join our team and manage a varied caseload of private client matters.
The Role
β’ Manage a varied caseload of private client matters
β’ Provide clear, practical and professional legal advice to clients.
β’ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and third-party referrers.
β’ Progress matters efficiently and accurately, keeping clients regularly updated on progress, timescales and costs.
β’ Maintain accurate and comprehensive case files and records using the firm's case management systems.
β’ Ensure all client information and documentation is handled with a high level of confidentiality and security.
β’ Manage billing, time recording, aged debt and other relevant performance targets.
β’ Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, working alongside the Accounts/Credit Control team where required.
β’ Work in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules, Code of Conduct and all relevant regulatory requirements.
β’ Identify opportunities to develop client relationships, generate referrals and contribute to business development activities.
β’ Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge and undertake appropriate training and professional development.
β’ Provide support and guidance to junior team members or legal assistants where required.
β’ Attend departmental and team meetings and contribute positively to discussions and the wider development of the department.
β’ Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a professional, supportive and client-focused environment.
Skills & Experience
β’ Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Private Client Fee Earner.
β’ Experience managing a private client caseload with minimal supervision.
β’ Strong experience across wills, probate and estate administration, with additional experience in trusts, inheritance tax, powers of attorney and/or Court of Protection work desirable.
β’ Excellent client care and relationship-building skills.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
β’ High attention to detail and accuracy.
β’ Commercial awareness, including an understanding of billing, time recording and credit control.
β’ Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
β’ A professional, approachable and team-focused attitude.
