An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to take the lead of a growing Commercial Property team in the West Midlands. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role offering the opportunity to manage and develop a team, build strong client relationships and play a key role in the continued growth of the department. Alongside managing your own varied caseload, you will have genuine influence over the direction of the team, with strong exposure to the Board and a clear opportunity for progression towards Partnership for the right candidate.

The Role

You will handle a broad range of commercial property matters while taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, managing and developing the Commercial Property team
  • Managing recruitment, training and ongoing development of colleagues
  • Handling a varied caseload including acquisitions, disposals, leases, development and refinancing
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents and professional contacts
  • Working alongside the Marketing and Business Development team to generate new opportunities
  • Developing and implementing business development strategies to grow the department
  • Monitoring departmental performance and working towards billing targets
  • Maintaining high professional, regulatory and client service standards

About You

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor who combines strong technical ability with proven leadership and business development experience. You will ideally have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor
  • 6+ years' PQE in Commercial Property
  • Strong experience handling complex commercial property transactions
  • Previous experience managing, supervising or developing a team
  • A proven track record in business development and client relationship management
  • Strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload alongside departmental responsibilities
