We are looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Fee Earner to join our team and manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from initial instruction through to legal completion.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion
β’ Handle all aspects of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity
β’ Progress matters efficiently and accurately, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept regularly informed
β’ Provide clear and practical advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process
β’ Communicate effectively with clients, estate agents, lenders, other solicitors and third parties
β’ Prepare and review legal documentation and ensure all necessary searches, enquiries and checks are completed
β’ Manage exchange and completion processes and deal with post-completion requirements
β’ Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and case records using the firm's case management system
β’ Maintain high standards of client care, professionalism and confidentiality
β’ Work towards agreed billing, time recording, aged debt and other performance targets
β’ Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, with support from the Accounts team
β’ Ensure compliance with relevant professional regulations, procedures and the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) where applicable
β’ Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders and professional contacts
β’ Contribute to business development and marketing activities where appropriate
β’ Keep up to date with changes in conveyancing practice and relevant legislation through ongoing training and professional development
β’ Supervise and support a Conveyancing Assistant, providing guidance on workload, performance and development
β’ Participate positively in team and departmental meetings
β’ Contribute to a professional, supportive and collaborative working environment
Skills & Experience
β’ Previous experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload
β’ Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process from instruction through to completion
β’ Experience dealing with sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity
β’ Excellent client care and communication skills
β’ Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
β’ Excellent organisational and time-management skills
β’ The ability to manage your own caseload and prioritise competing deadlines
β’ A professional, proactive and client-focused approach
β’ Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
β’ Experience using a legal case management system would be advantageous
β’ The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team
