About the Role
The Pre-Sales and Client Implementation Manager bridges Sales, Onboarding, Relationship Management, and technical delivery, designing tailored solutions for prospective and existing clients and guiding new clients through a smooth implementation and activation journey.
Acting as the primary product and solutions expert for client-facing teams, this role works closely with Risk, Compliance, Product, Legal, Client Operations and IT to ensure every solution is compliant, clearly understood by the client, and delivered successfully from proposal through to go-live and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing Client Solutions
- Partner with Sales and Relationship Management to understand the needs of prospective and existing clients and design tailored solutions.
- Create and track Client solution descriptions from the point of the initial assessment to post implementation adoption
- Deliver product, service and solution presentations, acting as the primary subject matter expert for client queries.
- Work with Risk, Compliance, Product, Legal, IT and other teams to ensure solutions are compliant and fit for purpose.
- Provide activation and post-go-live support during the initial “hypercare” period, coordinating resolution of any issues.
- Gather client feedback during and after implementation to inform continuous improvement.
- Client Onboarding & Implementation
- Translate approved commercial proposals into structured implementation roadmaps.
- Support Sales and Relationship Management throughout onboarding, setup and activation – including client calls, gathering client information, and ensuring clients understand the solution and each stage of the onboarding process.
- Help clients navigate key onboarding milestones, flagging where information or decisions are needed to keep implementation on track.
- Coordinate internal approvals for non-standard client requests, working with relevant teams.
- Develop the agenda for, and participate in, client handover calls to ensure a smooth transition to ongoing account management.
- Oversee end-to-end onboarding, including account setup, technical integration and sandbox readiness.
- Identify, manage and escalate implementation risks, bottlenecks or delays as needed.
- Knowledge, Documentation & Collaboration
- Develop and maintain client-facing and internal implementation documentation, templates and onboarding materials.
- Contribute to the internal knowledge base on products, services and implementation processes.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert and consultant for client-facing teams.
- Partner with the Product team to develop and deliver training on new products, services and processes.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Legal and IT teams to share insights and improve processes.
Requirements
Experience
- 4+ years of experience in fintech, payments, banking or financial services, ideally within a client-facing solutions, pre-sales, implementation, onboarding, customer success or product-related role.
- Demonstrable experience working directly with B2B clients, understanding their business requirements and translating these into practical product or service solutions.
- Proven experience managing or coordinating end-to-end client implementations, from requirements gathering and solution design through onboarding, technical integration, activation and post-go-live support.
- Experience working with payment products and infrastructure, with a good understanding of areas such as payment accounts, domestic and cross-border payments, payment rails, FX, APIs and transaction flows.
- Experience supporting complex or non-standard client requirements and coordinating multiple internal stakeholders to determine appropriate solutions.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and collaborating with Risk, Compliance and Legal teams as part of solution design and client onboarding.
- Experience delivering client presentations, product demonstrations, workshops or solution discussions, with the ability to act confidently as a subject matter expert.
- Experience creating and maintaining implementation documentation, client guides, process documentation, templates and internal knowledge materials.
- Experience providing training or knowledge-sharing sessions to Sales, Relationship Management or other client-facing teams would be advantageous.
- Knowledge & Technical Capability
- Strong understanding of the B2B payments and fintech ecosystem, including the commercial and operational considerations involved in delivering payment solutions to clients.
- Ability to understand payment flows and translate client requirements into clearly defined business, operational and technical requirements.
- Good understanding of API-based integrations and technical implementation concepts, with the ability to hold credible conversations with both client technical teams and internal IT/Product teams.
- Understanding of client onboarding, implementation and activation processes within a regulated financial services environment.
- Core Skills & Competencies
