We are recruiting a VAT Senior Manager to join a growing indirect tax team within a top-40 accountancy practice operating across London and the South of England. This is a newly created, pivotal role offering the opportunity to help shape and grow a dynamic VAT advisory function, with flexible location and working options. The role may involve travel between regional offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide VAT advisory services across a broad range of UK indirect tax matters.
- Conduct VAT health checks and system reviews to ensure client compliance and efficiency.
- Manage and deliver VAT advisory projects, ensuring technical excellence and commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for further work.
- Review VAT returns and oversee delivery to high technical standards.
- Liaise and negotiate with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Contribute to business development, cross-selling, and the wider growth of the VAT offering.
- Support internal training and provide VAT guidance to colleagues.
Candidate Requirements
- Circa 5 years’ UK VAT advisory experience in practice.
- CTA (VAT) qualified or equivalent preferred.
- Strong technical VAT knowledge with proven client advisory experience.
- Commercially minded with experience managing projects and developing client relationships.
- Confident communicator with strong IT and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence due to multi-site travel.
