Job Description

We are recruiting a VAT Assistant Manager to join a growing indirect tax team within a top-40 accountancy practice operating across London and the South of England.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n• Providing technical advice on a range of Indirect Tax matters, supporting your output with legislation, case law and technical analysis\\n• Liaising with clients and colleagues, assisting and advising where necessary\\n• Liaising and negotiating with HMRC on behalf of clients\\n• Planning and managing assignments ensuring these are completed to a high standard and within budget\\n• Providing clients with confidence in their VAT systems by conducting health checks and in-depth reviews of their business tax systems to establish if their VAT is being dealt with thoroughly and accurately\\n• Assisting a wide range of clients (from private individuals to £bn companies) with the practical application of the UK VAT and indirect tax regulations\\n• Providing support to the wider business with demand led VAT queries\\n• Assisting in promoting the VAT advisory service offering both internally and externally\\n• Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries\\n• General support to the VAT team as required\\n\\nCandidate Requirements\\n• Experience of providing VAT advisory services within practice or industry\\n• CTA (VAT) qualified or equivalent preferred.\\n• Strong technical VAT knowledge with proven client advisory experience.\\n• Commercially minded with experience managing projects and developing client relationships.\\n• Confident communicator with strong IT and organisational skills.\\n• Full UK driving licence due to multi-site travel.\\n\\nEmployment Details & Benefits\\n• Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote) with flexible hours around core hours (10am–4pm).\\n\\nShould you have any questions or wish to apply please do not hesitate to contact Clear IT Recruitment Limited.\\n\\nPlease Note: Due to the number of applications we receive we may be unable to respond to every application directly.
