My client is a Top 40 firm of Chartered Accountants. As a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, they look after the accountancy, tax planning and business advisory needs of their clients (individuals, businesses and third sector organisations both in the UK and overseas). They are seeking a dedicated Technical Compliance Lead to play a strategic leadership role in the firm. This is a newly created position that will shape their compliance and risk management strategy while ensuring operational excellence.
A key focus of the role will be on developing robust frameworks, educating the business on compliance matters and taking a proactive approach to risk management and regulatory adherence.
- Compliance Oversight: Develop and implement the firm's compliance strategy and ensure its effective execution. Lead on all areas of compliance and risk management, ensuring regulatory adherence and operational excellence. Work closely with and support the Audit Committee, Audit Compliance Partner, and Managing Partner. Manage and coordinate resources involved in compliance activities, including the Compliance team and Responsible Individuals (RIs). Ensure effective communication on all areas of compliance, ensuring adherence to the firm's compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant / Auditor (ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Experience in a compliance role within an accountancy firm or a regulatory body such as ICAEW/QAD.
- Experience handling external compliance visits.
They provide flexible options for remote and/or in-office work. This role typically requires one trip to each office per year. Salary is DOE.
