A law firm is seeking a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join its Private Client team in Dorking. The role plays a key part in supporting the smooth running of the department by providing high-quality administrative and secretarial assistance, working closely with fee earners and wider support teams.

You will provide administrative and organisational support to the Private Client department, including:

  • Preparation of accurate correspondence and documents through audio and copy typing
  • Handling client communications via telephone, email and in person in a professional and friendly manner
  • Photocopying and post distribution in liaison with the Business Support Team
  • Diary management and coordination of appointments
  • File opening and closure in line with Law Society and SRA requirements
  • Preparation of meeting rooms and refreshments as required
  • Supporting and guiding other Department Assistants within Private Client and across the firm
  • Undertaking training and supporting ongoing self-development
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all client and firm information
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the Partners

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Department Assistant within a law firm
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
