My client is seeking dynamic, commercially minded Police Station Representative to join their firm in Luton in Bedfordshire or Stevenage in Hertfordshire.
This is a key role supporting clients detained in police stations across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and nearby regions. You will provide high quality advice and representation, working both within core office hours and through the out of hours rota as required.
The firm is known for its strong reputation in criminal defence and handles a broad range of matters from general crime through to more serious and complex cases. They undertake both legal aid and private work, therefore the standard of client care and responsiveness must be consistently high.
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 12 months experience within a busy criminal defence environment
- Hold Police Station Accreditation (or be working towards it; accreditation will be highly advantageous)
- Be located within reasonable distance of Herts/Beds for prompt attendance at local stations
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet operational demands, including out of hours commitments
You must be able to demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to criminal defence work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical ability and sound judgement
- Effective organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in urgent situations
- Strong legal research skills
- Clear and accurate written English, with the ability to draft communications to a high standard
- Confidence with IT systems; the firm operates a fully computerised, integrated case management system
