The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The main purpose of the role is to optimise and improve their systems through software development, maintenance, and assistance. The role is part of a small team responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the business through the design, development and testing of a range of exciting projects. During these projects you will be exposed to a number of different systems and technologies, providing a great environment to expand your skills.
This will be achieved through the following key areas:
- Systems development and management
- Helpdesk support
- Project work
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and manage IT software solutions to facilitate the business operations and realise the business strategy.
- Provide 3rd line support for problems arising from the use of our software solutions.
- Be involved in the full project life cycle, including planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementing and maintenance.
- Lead various projects/initiatives, both planned and ad-hoc, ensuring fit for purpose for UK and European territories.
- Take ownership of projects from conception to delivery and ongoing support, working closely with our Customers and the wider I.T. Team.
- Capable of both contribution to strategic discussions and more tactical, practical problem solving.
- Effectively use data to inform decisions which improve business performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the I.T. team to develop improved solutions.
- Ensure code conforms to established standards; maintaining the integrity and security of company systems and data.
- Create and maintain systems documentation and user training materials.
- Assist in infrastructure projects and day to day running of the IT estate.
Experience & skills required
- T-SQL for creation of complex queries and stored procedures.
- Worked in and understood a retail, wholesale or distributed company.
Beneficial Skill-set
- Sybase SQL Anywhere database management.
- Use of REST APIs to interface with other systems.
- Knowledge of JSON queries.
