My client, one of the UK’s leading law firms, with over 100 years’ experience of successfully representing clients, are looking for a Legal Secretary to join their Commercial Property department in Oxford, Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and organised individual who enjoys supporting a fast-paced team, working across a range of property transactions and contributing to the smooth running of a well-established practice. You’ll be joining a friendly and collaborative environment that values teamwork, accuracy, and initiative. The Role
- Working within a team-based support structure, you’ll assist fee earners across the Commercial Property department to ensure that work is delivered efficiently and clients receive an excellent service experience.
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners.
- Managing documents, including drafting, formatting, version control, and proof-reading legal correspondence and reports.
- Audio and copy typing of letters, contracts, and legal documentation.
- Conducting ID checks, file opening, and preparing client care documentation.
- Managing electronic and paper filing systems, scanning, and pagination.
- Coordinating meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Supporting the smooth progression of property transactions by liaising with clients, solicitors, and external stakeholders.
About You
- You’ll be a highly organised, motivated, and detail-oriented individual who enjoys taking ownership of tasks and ensuring deadlines are met. This position would suit someone with prior experience supporting fee earners in a property or commercial law setting.
- At least 1 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary, within any area of law.
- Excellent document management and formatting skills, including numbering and amending large legal documents.
- Fast, accurate typing (digital dictation experience preferred).
- Strong IT skills, with confidence using case management and Microsoft Office systems.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Positive, professional communication style and team-oriented mindset.
