Our client is a modern and growing law firm seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal accounts experience to join a collaborative team and develop their career within a progressive legal environment.
Working closely with the finance team, you will be responsible for:
- Managing client and office accounts, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial records
- Working closely with fee earners and operational teams to provide finance support across the business
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
- Performing daily and monthly reconciliations
- Processing client billing, transfers and completion statements
- Supporting supplier payments, expenses and banking activities
- Assisting with payroll, VAT returns and month-end finance processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting management reporting
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Responding to finance queries from colleagues and clients
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in legal accounts, finance or bookkeeping
- Good understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
- Strong reconciliation and accounting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
- Experience using legal accounting software, Xero or QuickBooks is advantageous
- Able to manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
