An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join my clients team in their Workington offices. My client is a highly regarded law firm with an outstanding reputation for their service throughout Cumbria. Duties • Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings. • Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high level of accuracy. • Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcribe legal documents as required. • Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information. • Utilise Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel to create spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation. • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties via phone, email, and in-person interactions. • Assist in the preparation of court documents and filings while adhering to strict deadlines. • Manage office supplies inventory and assist with general office administration tasks. Requirements • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with excellent IT skills. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. • Exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. • Experience in audio typing is highly desirable. • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical abilities.
