Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join my clients team in their Carlisle offices.
My client is a highly regarded law firm with an outstanding reputation for their service throughout Cumbria.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high level of accuracy.
- Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcribe legal documents as required.
- Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
- Utilise Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel to create spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Assist in the preparation of court documents and filings while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Manage office supplies inventory and assist with general office administration tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with excellent IT skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Experience in audio typing is highly desirable.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical abilities.
