Overview

My client is currently looking for a for a Legal Cashier to join their law on a fully remote basis.

To be considered for the role, you must have recent experience in either a volume conveyancing firm or a firm that operates on a consultancy model.

You\’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of client money, helping us deliver an efficient service to both clients and consultants.

You\’ll need to bring prior legal cashiering experience, a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), and a calm, methodical approach – particularly when handling high volumes of work, in particular conveyancing completions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process client and office account payments, receipts, and transfers
  • Handle the financial side of completions, including reviewing statements and files
  • Manage daily banking and reconciliation tasks
  • Ensure all work complies with the latest Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Help maintain clean, accurate financial records for audit readiness
  • Flag any discrepancies or compliance issues and work to resolve them quickly
  • Respond to queries from legal consultants and internal teams in a timely, professional manner
  • Work closely with the accounts team to ensure smooth day-to-day running
  • Support internal financial processes and reporting
  • Use our legal accounting systems to process transactions efficiently (LEAP experience is a bonus)

Requirements

  • Recent experience in either a volume conveyancing firm or a firm that operates on a consultancy model.
  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier or in a legal accounts role
  • Solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high volumes calmly and efficiently
  • Good working knowledge of Xero accounting software and Excel is a bonus
