My client is recruiting for a Conveyancer to join their finance company in Manchester or London and to assist in building and managing a team.

The role

You will be responsible for managing the legal aspects of secured lending transactions, while working closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Responsibilities include:

• Building and developing the in-house conveyancing process, guiding automation of title checks and related procedures.
• Managing all legal elements of secured lending transactions, including title reviews, registrations, redemptions, and discharges.
• Handling timely and accurate registrations of property and legal charges with HM Land Registry.
• Overseeing post-completion processes, including removal of mortgages/legal charges post-redemption and liaising with lenders on settlements.
• Acting as a commercial advisor to the wider business, simplifying complex legal issues and providing practical solutions.
• Recruiting, leading, and developing a small team of paralegals/junior conveyancers as in-house capabilities expand.

About you:

• A qualified and Licensed Conveyancer (or Solicitor) with hands-on conveyancing experience working with mortgage lenders.
• Confident in Land Registry processes and secured lending requirements.
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to identify and manage risk.
• Commercially minded, able to translate complex legal issues into clear, business-focused advice.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, and technology-driven environment.
• Prior in-house experience is helpful, but not essential.
