An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join my client’s team in their Hull Offices. My client is seeking an organised and compassionate Legal Assistant to join their Private Client team and support the smooth delivery of services to their clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Estate Administration who enjoys handling client matters with care and professionalism. No formal legal qualifications required, but previous experience in private client law is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of probate and estate administration files, from initial instruction to completion.
- Preparing probate applications and associated documentation.
- Preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMCTS, HMRC, and financial institutions.
- Drafting correspondence, schedules of assets/liabilities, and estate accounts.
- Ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining accurate file records.
- Providing clear and empathetic client communication throughout the process.
- Ensuring accurate data entry and file management.
- Supporting fee earners and contributing to team targets.
About You
- You have experience working in wills, probate and/or estate administration — whether in a law firm, accountancy practice, bank, insurance company or similar setting.
- You’re highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- You’re comfortable managing multiple matters and communicating with clients during sensitive times.
- You can work independently but enjoy being part of a small, supportive team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
