Semi Senior Accountant in Haverhill, Suffolk

My client is a Top 40 firm of Chartered Accountants. They are seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to be based in their Colchester office. As a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, they look after the accountancy, tax planning and business advisory needs of their clients (individuals, businesses and third sector organisations both in the UK and overseas). This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee /Junior Accountant to move to a Semi-Senior Accountant and to join a dynamic, fast-growing accountancy and business advisory firm, working with an exciting portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities: • Work with owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and companies. • Prepare accounts and financial statements for clients. • Process client records accurately and efficiently. • Prepare management accounts to meet client needs. • Complete and check VAT returns for accuracy and compliance. • Support audit pack preparation and planning. • Address basic client queries and provide support as required. • Carry out administrative and ad hoc tasks as needed. Key Skills and Competencies: • Experience in an accountancy role, preferably from a practice environment, with some experience of Audit. • AAT qualification or someone starting ACCA Studies. • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to client service. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. • Proactive and results-oriented, with a focus on delivering value to the business. • A collaborative team player. • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
