An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Community Care Solicitor with 4+ years PQE to join my clients team in their Reading, Berkshire offices on a hybrid basis.
Role & Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse caseload of Community Care and Court of Protection matters with minimal supervision.
- Depending on the candidate’s experience, there may also be opportunities for work involving Special Educational Needs matters.
- Supervising and supporting junior fee earners and support staff.
- Drafting and reviewing complex legal documents and correspondence.
- Providing advocacy at assessments, appeals and court or tribunal hearings.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
- Solid experience in Community Care / Public Law and / or Court of Protection matters, including overlapping issues relating to Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare.
- Experience of working with and advising Court of Protection Deputies, their clients and professionals such as case managers.
- Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload of privately fee-paying clients, including cases with the need for a multi-pronged approach involving public law and Court of Protection remedies.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent client care and organisational abilities.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior fee earners and a desire to assist the Head of Team with developing the team.
