My client is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team in Birkenhead on a hybrid basis.

My client is a highly regarded national law firm specialising in a variety of law disciplines such as Court of Protection, Private Client & Conveyancing.

Key Responsibilities;

Deputyship

– Assisting on all aspects of Professional Deputyship matters from application to dealing with the administration of the Deputyship
– Managing a caseload of professional and lay deputyship clients
– Preparing and submitting lay deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
– Preparing and submitting professional deputyship applications, trustee applications and interim/urgent applications to the Court of Protection
– Providing advice regarding the Court of Protection to union clients via the free legal advice service
– Liaising with case managers, carers, clients and their families

The above tasks are indicative and not an exhaustive list.

The job holder will be expected to conduct and manage all aspects of their caseload, including taking appropriate decisions involving the exercise of judgment, and to carry out work on other team members’ cases as required.

The job holder will a require a “can do” attitude with an ability to work proactively. They will have good theoretical knowledge of the work and be a confident communicator.

The job holder will have strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

The job holder will play an important role in the team in helping to achieve the team’s objectives and in fostering team spirit. They will accept a share of responsibility for the success or failure of the team.

Key Requirements, Skills & Experience:

– Good knowledge of law relevant to Deputyship and Court of Protection requirements
– At least 3 years’ experience of conduct of deputyship files
– Experience of meeting deadlines with a minimum of supervision
– Direct contact with clients, face to face and over the phone
– Experience of Microsoft Office packages
– Admitted solicitor or legal executive or equivalent.
