An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Community Care Solicitor with 4+ years PQE to join my clients team in their Reading, Berkshire offices on a hybrid basis.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Managing a diverse caseload of Community Care and Court of Protection matters with minimal supervision. Depending on the candidate’s experience, there may also be opportunities for work involving Special Educational Needs matters.
• Supervising and supporting junior fee earners and support staff.
• Drafting and reviewing complex legal documents and correspondence.
• Providing advocacy at assessments, appeals and court or tribunal hearings.
Skills, Attributes & Experience:
• Solid experience in Community Care/Public Law and/or Court of Protection matters, including overlapping issues relating to • Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare.
• Experience of working with and advising Court of Protection Deputies, their clients and professionals such as case managers.
• Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload of privately fee-paying clients, including cases with the need for a multi-pronged approach involving public law and Court of Protection remedies.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent client care and organisational abilities.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior fee earners and a desire to assist the Head of Team with developing junior fee earners.
• Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs more widely and/or Special Educational Needs law. (Desirable)
• Involvement in business development, training delivery or marketing initiatives Desirable)
