My client is a Top 40 UK firm of Chartered Accountants with offices across the UK. They are seeking an Accounts Assistant Manager / Manager to join their specialist Bloodstock & Racing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage your own portfolio within a niche and growing sector. The role can be based fully remote or from one of their many UK offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of bloodstock, racing, equine and rural clients
  • Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Prepare and review VAT returns and tax computations
  • Attend client meetings, including occasional on-site visits
  • Provide financial insight and advisory support
  • Review work of junior staff and support their development
  • Ensure assignments are completed to deadline and budget

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong general practice background
  • Experience with rural, agricultural or equine clients desirable (or a genuine interest in the sector)
  • Up-to-date VAT knowledge
  • Strong IT skills including cloud accounting software
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
