An established and client-focused accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join its team on a part-time basis.

Role:

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports
  • Assist with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
  • Prepare and review VAT returns and support HMRC compliance requirements
  • Support payroll processing and maintain payroll-related records where required
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client financial transactions
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with senior accountants and external stakeholders
  • Analyse financial information and identify discrepancies or areas requiring attention
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients regarding accounting and financial queries
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide support on routine accounting matters
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company procedures, and HMRC regulations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of enhanced systems and procedures

Requirements:

  • ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience within an accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing payroll, VAT returns, sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts, and self-assessment tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional and client-focused approach with strong relationship management skills
