An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Property Legal Adviser to join my client's team in their York offices on a hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Property Lawyer to further their career with a leading firm. This role would be suited to an existing team leader or a candidate who is looking to take the next step in their career and start managing a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Directors in delivering firm-wide strategy.
- Ensure Residential Property work aligns with firm policies and departmental standards.
- Provide high-quality, timely legal service and client communication.
- Manage own caseload and assist colleagues with advice and representation.
- Maintain professional standards and regulatory compliance (e.g. SRA).
- Record and develop professional competencies.
- Promote the firm internally and externally.
- Act with integrity, sound judgment, and client focus.
- Stay informed on law, funding, and compliance.
- Follow internal systems (case management, audits, due diligence, time recording).
- Meet billing targets and manage credit control.
- Maximise profitability and minimise waste.
- Support staff performance and development.
Skills & Experience
- Strong academic background; qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or ILEX with at least 5 years PQE.
- Fee earning experience and familiarity with professional partnerships and LLPs.
- Knowledge of firm operations, people, finances, and strategic objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; persuasive and confident presenter.
- Strong organisational, numerical, and financial skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage time, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in IT systems, including desktop and case management.
