As an in-house HR Consultant at Clear Risk Management, you will be a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients. Your expertise will help them manage complex people issues with confidence, while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice. By providing tailored, commercially focused HR advice and support, you will play a key role in shaping effective and positive people management across a wide range of organisations.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR contact for a portfolio of SME clients, offering tailored advice and support on employment matters.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management issues.
- Review and develop HR documentation such as employment contracts, handbooks, and policies.
- Deliver open and bespoke training sessions to client managers and teams on key HR topics.
- Support clients with specialist services such as settlement agreements, employee engagement surveys, and HR compliance audits.
- Work collaboratively with our internal team to ensure high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
About You
Qualifications
- Essential: CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent professional qualification or experience).
- Experience in an HR advisory, consultancy, or generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Confident managing sensitive or complex HR matters with professionalism.
Desirable
- Experience working with SME clients or in a consultancy environment.
- Familiarity with HR systems or auditing processes.
- Experience supporting or drafting settlement agreements.
- Experience of using Acturis or a similar insurance management system to efficiently process policies, manage client data, and support day-to-day brokerage activity.
