Strong environmental compliance and accurate field data are critical to safe, compliant workplaces and this role sits right at the centre of that delivery. We’re looking for an Environmental Technician to join our Environmental team at Clear Group. You’ll play a key role in supporting environmental monitoring, sampling, and occupational hygiene services across a wide range of client sites throughout the UK. This is a predominantly field-based role involving regular travel to client sites.

As part of a wider specialist group, we support clients across multiple sectors with monitoring and consultancy work that directly improves workplace safety and environmental compliance. Our Environmental team is collaborative, experienced, and supportive, working closely together to deliver high-quality technical outcomes across field and office-based activity. This is a hands‑on, field-based role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, attention to detail, and building a long‑term career in a technical environmental discipline.
What you’ll be doing
- Support planning and preparation for site-based environmental monitoring work
- Carry out or assist with environmental sampling and monitoring on client sites
- Collect, handle, and process environmental samples accurately and safely
- Maintain accurate records of all field‑based activity and results
- Support data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and readiness checks
- Follow strict health, safety, and risk assessment procedures at all times
- Work across a variety of industrial and environmental settings across the UK
- Support ISO 9001 quality management processes
- Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues when required

What you’ll bring
- Full UK driving licence required
- Ability to work in field‑based, industrial, and outdoor environments
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and occasional working at height
- A proactive, practical mindset with willingness to learn and develop

- Experience in environmental monitoring, LEV testing, or similar technical work
- Exposure to occupational hygiene or environmental consultancy
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or quality systems
- Science or maths‑based qualification (Level 3 or above)
- Interest in environmental science or technical fieldwork
