As a key member of the claims team, you will directly influence the client experience by ensuring insurance claims are managed with empathy, efficiency, and professionalism. Your ability to guide clients through what is often a stressful process will help secure fair outcomes and strengthen client relationships and trust in the Clear Group. You’ll contribute to internal excellence by maintaining high compliance standards, sharing knowledge with colleagues, and helping drive ongoing improvements within the team. Your role will support broader business goals through collaborative work on cross-functional projects and enhancing team visibility across the Group. You’ll be part of a supportive, tight-knit team that celebrates success and values authenticity, with opportunities to work on a mix of delegated and non-delegated claims, participate in strategic reviews, and engage in personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload across multiple insurance lines, including Motor, Property, EL, and PL.
- Provide clear guidance on cover, settlements, and insurer decisions.
- Negotiate fair outcomes with insurers, loss adjusters, and suppliers.
- Act as the main client contact throughout the claims process.
- Maintain accurate records, manage diaries, and process settlement payments.
- Handle claims within delegated and non-delegated authority limits.
- Share knowledge and support the development of team members.
- Build strong working relationships with insurers, suppliers, and broker teams.
- Contribute to audits, client reviews, and internal improvement projects.
- Engage in learning, CPD, and onboarding activities.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FCA, internal policies, and data protection laws.
- Complete mandatory training and stay updated on industry changes.
- Represent the business professionally and uphold company values.
- Declare conflicts of interest promptly and appropriately.
About You
- Experience handling property claims within an insurance company.
- Experience working within delegated authority (DA) frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and apply insurance policy wording.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance claims systems.
- Ability to manage multiple claims while maintaining attention to detail.
- Independent working style with a collaborative team spirit.
- Commitment to personal development and ongoing learning.
- Experience across a range of commercial or specialist insurance lines.
- Working toward or interested in qualifications (e.g. Cert CII, Dip CII, CILA).
- Familiarity with insurer portals and performance MI.
- Experience in audits or compliance reviews.
- Experience using Acturis or a similar insurance platform to process claims, manage client data, and support broking operations.
