About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Switchgear Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled engineer with experience in LV/MV switchgear, power distribution, or control panel systems. You will be responsible for supporting the design, manufacture, testing, and commissioning of switchgear solutions, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop LV/MV switchgear and power distribution solutions.
- Produce electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Interpret customer specifications and provide technical solutions.
- Support switchgear assembly, testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
- Assist with technical problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working with switchgear, power distribution, MCCs, or control panel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with LV/MV switchgear design.
- AutoCAD, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar design software experience.
- Knowledge of IEC/BS electrical standards.
- Experience supporting FATs, commissioning, or site activities.
