An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced BMS Technical Director to join a leading specialist in Building Management Systems and Critical Environment Automation. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the company's technical strategy, engineering excellence and innovation across a portfolio of high-profile data centre and mission-critical projects. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will define engineering standards, provide technical governance across all BMS projects, support business development and ensure the business remains at the forefront of Building Automation technology.
Location: Ireland - Hybrid Position
Basic salary: €100,000 - €120,000

Responsibilities- Technical Leadership
- Define and lead the company's technical vision for BMS/Controls.
- Act as the highest level of technical authority for all BMS projects.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the design, implementation, commissioning and lifecycle of complex BMS installations.
- Develop and maintain company engineering standards, design principles and technical governance.
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with industry best practice and client technical requirements.
- Engineering & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and project delivery.
- Introduce new technologies, platforms and innovative engineering solutions.
- Develop company standards, SOPs, technical documentation and engineering templates.
- Support the development of standardised BMS architectures across multiple clients.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies within the smart buildings and data centre sector.
- Client Support
- Act as the senior technical advisor for key clients.
- Support business development by assisting with technical proposals, presentations and solution development.
- Work alongside commercial teams during tender and pre-construction phases.
- Build long-term technical relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand engineering services and technical offerings.
- Business Strategy
- Contribute to business planning and long-term engineering strategy.
- Participate in senior leadership meetings and support company growth initiatives.
- Ensure engineering resources, standards and capabilities continue to evolve alongside business growth.
- Extensive experience delivering Building Management Systems projects.
- Previous leadership experience within a BMS integrator or controls specialist.
- Strong knowledge of platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Trend, Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Distech or Johnson Controls.
- Excellent understanding of BACnet, Modbus, MQTT and wider smart building technologies.
- Experience working within data centres, pharmaceuticals, healthcare or other critical environments.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing engineering standards and technical governance.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support business growth through technical leadership.
