An established and respected smart buildings and controls specialist delivering innovative Building Management System (BMS) solutions across commercial, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, and critical environment projects throughout London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are looking for an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to join our engineering team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and optimisation of BMS systems across a range of projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure systems are delivered to specification, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission BMS systems including HVAC controls, plant interfaces, and energy management systems
- Carry out point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system validation
- Diagnose and resolve software, networking, and control issues
- Modify and optimise BMS software and graphics where required
- Ensure all systems operate in accordance with design specifications and client requirements
- Produce commissioning documentation, test sheets, and O&M information
- Attend client meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews
- Support project handovers and provide client training where necessary
- Work collaboratively with installation engineers and project teams
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and site regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer
- Strong knowledge of BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, or Delta
- Good understanding of HVAC systems and controls
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience commissioning large commercial or critical environment projects
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Experience with data centres, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical projects
- Electrical qualifications or controls-related certifications
- Knowledge of IP networking and integration protocols such as BACnet or Modbus
