In this role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of PLC/SCADA automation projects and service contracts across cutting-edge data centre environments. From large-scale upgrades to continuous performance optimisation, you’ll ensure automation systems are reliable, efficient, and future-ready. You’ll work at the intersection of project delivery, technology, and leadership, managing skilled engineers and collaborating with global clients who demand the highest standards of performance.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of automation and control projects across multiple data centre sites in the Midlands region.
- Oversee design, installation, and commissioning of PLC/SCADA control systems (Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider platforms).
- Manage ongoing service contracts, ensuring uptime, resilience, and compliance with data centre standards.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external partners to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to project and service engineers.
- Develop automation strategies that improve system performance, energy efficiency, and scalability.
- Act as a key client interface, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
Required Experience:
- Proven background managing automation or control system projects within data centres, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, and industrial communication networks.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across project delivery and service operations.
- Excellent client-facing and commercial management skills.
- Strong technical foundation in system integration, commissioning, and controls design.
- Ability to work autonomously, make confident decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
