Large Scale Static Site

Looking for a BMS role where you can take ownership of a major site without the demands of travelling between multiple locations?

I'm working with a well established building services specialist on an opportunity for a BMS Static Engineer to join a large, prestigious site in Mile End, East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a BMS engineer who enjoys the technical side of building management systems and wants to become the go-to specialist for a single site, working with Trend BMS controls in a substantial building environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor and optimise the Building Management System (BMS) across a large, static site in Mile End, East London.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and routine BMS inspections.

  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot control issues and resolve problems across BMS controllers, sensors, actuators and field devices.

  • Work with Trend BMS systems, including identifying system faults and supporting controls optimisation.

  • Monitor HVAC plant and associated building services to ensure efficient and reliable operation.

  • Adjust control strategies, setpoints and operating schedules where required to improve system performance.

  • Support the engineering team with investigations into recurring faults and system performance issues.

  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports and system documentation.

  • Liaise with on-site facilities, maintenance and subcontractor teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.

  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, occupant comfort and overall building performance.

Desired Experience

  • Previous experience working as a BMS Engineer, BMS Maintenance Engineer, BMS Service Engineer or in a similar controls-focused role.

  • Hands-on experience with Trend BMS systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across BMS controls and associated building services.

  • Good understanding of HVAC systems, including air handling units, fan coil units, pumps, valves and associated control sequences.

  • Experience working with BMS controllers, sensors, actuators and field-level devices.

  • Understanding of control strategies, system setpoints, time schedules, alarms and BMS graphics.

  • Ability to work independently, manage maintenance tasks and take ownership of BMS performance on a static site.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with on-site engineering and facilities teams.

  • A proactive approach to preventative maintenance, fault resolution and continuous improvement.

  • Relevant BMS, controls or building services qualifications are advantageous.
