We're looking for an experienced and motivated Night Shift Supervisor to join our Pen Y Bont Depot and help keep our operation moving through the night.
The role
As our Night Shift Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of a busy, fast-paced operation. You'll lead a team of up to 50 colleagues, setting clear priorities, driving performance and making sure we deliver for our customers.
Our Night shift typically operates 5 days over 7 starting around 22:00, although finish times can vary depending on parcel volumes.
This is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and getting the best from people. You'll need to think on your feet, make confident decisions and work collaboratively with colleagues across the depot.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and providing direction to a team of up to 50 direct reports
- Coaching, developing and training colleagues to help them perform at their best
- Driving performance and ensuring Night shift SLAs are achieved
- Ensuring compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
- Processing BI and MI reports relating to Driver and Loader performance
- Managing priorities, deadlines and deliverables across individual projects
- Identifying challenges and finding practical solutions in a fast-moving environment
- Working collaboratively with your peers to support the wider depot operation
What we're looking for
You'll be a confident people leader who can remain focused when the pressure is on.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Previous management experience leading and motivating a team
- Experience within a fast-paced logistics environment, although relevant experience from other sectors is also welcomed
- The ability to use your own initiative and deliver against tight deadlines
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Good PC skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- An understanding of Transport Regulations would be an advantage
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to take the lead when needed
