We’re excited to be working on some interesting projects this year and are now looking for a Construction Operative to join our growing team in St Helens.
Responsibilities
- Transport digital units from the depot to the installation site via a HGV truck.
- Break ground and install digital units.
- Replace component level parts on digital units.
- Work as part of a two‑person crew to break ground, replace, and install new digital units and bus shelters for local communities.
- Travel to sites in St Helens and surrounding areas, with occasional travel further afield and some night working depending on business needs.
- Ensure traffic management measures are in place before starting work and prevent unauthorised people within your working area.
- Follow Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015, Health and Safety policy, site‑specific risk assessments and method statements.
- Correctly use equipment (including working at height), maintain and keep tools and equipment safe on site.
- Commuting independently to and from the St Helens depot, with night shift duties to be paid at a premium rate if required.
Qualifications
- Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
- Class 2 HGV licence.
- CPCS A36 Lorry loader hook (novice or above).
- CPCS Slinger.
- Competency in CAT use.
- NRSWA accreditation to Operative standard.
- CDM knowledge.
- Excavation and sub‑structure knowledge.
- Understanding of RAMS.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Competency in using power tools such as hydraulic breakers and disc saws.
