Clear Automotive Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced PDI Vehicle Technicians, Vehicle Technicians, Service Technicians and Mechanics to join a leading automotive logistics business at their state-of-the-art vehicle preparation centre in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company preparing nearly new vehicles (up to 5 years old) within a modern, high-volume workshop environment. Whether you have experience in a dealership, independent garage, fleet maintenance or roadside inspection, we'd love to hear from you.
If you've previously worked as a PDI Technician, Service Technician, Vehicle Inspector, RAC Patrol or AA Technician, this role could be an excellent fit.
The Role
As a PDI Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards before being handed over to customers. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on a range of modern vehicles.
- Completing servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
- Following manufacturer and company PDI processes and quality standards.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults where required.
- Completing final quality inspections before vehicles move to MOT preparation.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop.
- Working effectively within a busy team to achieve daily production targets.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a PDI Technician, Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, Mechanic or Vehicle Inspector.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
- Experience carrying out servicing and vehicle repairs.
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced workshop.
- An MOT Tester Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
