This role is for an experienced MET Technician / Mechanic Strip Fit in a leading accident repair group within a fast-paced bodyshop environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in all panel repairs for accident-damaged vehicles. Qualifications such as ATA, NVQ Level 3, or IMI Level 3 are advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

  • Removing and refitting mechanical and electrical trims, panels, and components
  • Ensuring all stripping and rebuilding work is performed professionally and to standard, with final quality checks
  • Dismantling vehicles for panel work
  • Performing inspections, fault finding, and diagnostics
  • Ordering and managing replacement parts
  • Reassembling vehicles to pre-accident condition using manufacturer repair methods
  • Stripping and fitting components, bodywork, and trim elements
  • Performing all MET duties within scope
  • Road testing vehicles if applicable
  • Completing jobs within estimated times and managing parts efficiently
  • Adhering to health & safety standards and procedures

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Automotive Bodyshop Repair
  • ATA qualification is a plus
  • Previous experience in a bodyshop MET role is essential
  • Strip, fit, and trim experience
  • Experience rebuilding bodywork on damaged vehicles
